BU Alumni Win Global Design Award with Glassware that Creates "Smiles"

K.Sarunphon Boonto and K.Komtuch Tantiyuth, alumni of the School of Fine and Applied Arts, have brought prestige to Thailand's design industry on the world stage by winning The Isola Design Award 2025 in the Tableware Category with their work GRINN - Smile Glassware Collection, which transforms the ordinary experience of drinking water into moments of happiness.

GRINN is a handcrafted glassware collection meticulously designed to create a special experience through "Smile-Shaped Condensation" that appears on tables or surfaces when the glass is lifted. It's not just an ordinary water ring, but a smile that naturally forms through the combination of time, temperature, and water, making every drinking moment a small occasion
that fills users with joy.

Each glass in the GRINN Collection undergoes traditional glass blowing by skilled craftsmen, resulting in slight variations in shape, weight, and clarity in each
piece—characteristics that represent the uniqueness and charm of handcrafted work.

This award proves that creativity can transform everyday objects into memorable experiences while elevating Thailand's design industry to international recognition. It also serves as significant inspiration for emerging designers who aspire to create valuable work in the future.
