BUHTM Conducts Food Production Personnel Competency Assessment for ASEAN Standards Certification

 

School of Humanities and Tourism Management (BUHTM), serving as an assessment unit for ASEAN tourism professionals in the Food Production Department, has received operational support from the Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, under the framework of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (MRA-TP). The faculty conducted competency assessments for two positions: Commis Pastry and Commis Chef, with current students and alumni participating in this assessment.

 

 

The assessment consisted of practical examinations, theoretical tests and English language proficiency evaluations, conducted by National Assessors. The event was honored by the presence of K. Weeraphat  Chinaphan, Acting Director of the Tourism Personnel Standards Development Division, Department of Tourism, who observed the assessment process.

 

 

Those who pass the assessment will be certified as "ASEAN Tourism Professionals," which will enhance their employment opportunities within ASEAN countries, increase international competitiveness, and elevate the quality of tourism and culinary personnel at the regional level.

 

 

This project reflects Bangkok University's role in enhancing the quality of tourism and culinary personnel to be competitive at the regional level and supports the strategy of strengthening human resources in alignment with the true integration approach in the ASEAN Economic Community
