Launching Industry-Driven Innovation Project: Learning Real Challenges from the Industrial Sector

School of Information Technology and Innovation launched the Industry-Driven Innovation Project, the first pilot project of the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, focusing on learning from "real industrial sector challenges" to develop students' potential to be ready for real work in the rapidly changing world of business and technology.

This project provides opportunities for 4th-year students in Computer Science (CS), Computer Science (CS-DS: Data Science and Cybersecurity), and Information Technology (IT) programs to work with the country's leading companies and technology firms. The industrial sector proposes real-world problems while participating from problem presentation, providing guidance, technical coaching, through to jointly evaluating student work alongside faculty members.

This collaboration reflects the faculty's vision in recognizing the necessity to reduce the gap between teaching and learning in educational institutions and the industrial sector's demand for personnel with technical skills, business problem understanding, and real work experience.

The Industry-Driven Innovation Project has received cooperation from leading organizations and companies, including:

  • SCG – The Siam Cement Public Company Limited
  • True Digital Group Co., Ltd.
  • National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT)
  • Siam AI Corporation Co., Ltd.
  • 1Moby Co., Ltd.
  • Zenith Computer Co., Ltd.
  • Botnoi Consulting Co., Ltd.
  • Thaicom Management Group Co., Ltd.
  • The Bayview Hotels and Resorts
  • Omazz Holding Co., Ltd.
  • COSI – Center of Specialty Innovation

All are important partners in transferring real experience and industry-level work standards to students. The Industry-Driven Innovation Project is not only a platform for students to develop work from real challenges, but also an important step for the Faculty of Information Technology and Innovation in elevating teaching and learning to an Industry-Integrated Learning model to produce graduates who are "ready for real work, ready to think innovatively, and meet the digital era labor market demands."
